Domain Mapping

The follow these steps to point your domain to your account or website on IIMAGINE. The example below uses Namecheap. The steps are similar for most domain registrars. If you cannot follow this process in the user interface of your domain registrar you will need to contact them for support.

In this example, we want to use the domain GreatFamilyLife.com. We have created an account on IIMAGINE with the website name (or subdomain) ‘GFL’ so our website on IIMAGINE is located at gfl.iimagine.life. Now we want to point the domain GreatFamilyLife.com to our website on IIMAGINE so that, when people go to GreatFamilyLife.com, they end up at the a page we created on our site at IIMAGINE.

This is how to do it. It’s pretty simple!

Step 1.

Login to your domain registrar.

Select the domain.

Go to Advanced Settings.

Step 2.

Click on Add New Record

Select A record from the dropdown menu and enter the following info:

  • Host: gfl
  • Value: 107.191.42.0
  • TTL: Automatic

Remember to save everything.

It can take anything from 1 hour to 24 hours for the domain to propagate (start working) so be patient. The you will need to enter your custom domain into your IIMAGINE account. Go to “Account” and click add domain. See the screenshot below.

Make sure you have selected the Primary Domain by using the toggle button.

If you have a website with custom domain already at another host. #

Use this option if you have an existing custom domain and an existing website and you want to continue using them without changing anything – for example, maybe you just want to use the CRM or digital marketing tools from IIMAGINE while continining to use your existing website that is hosted somewhere else.

In order to do this, you need to create a new subdomain at your domain registrar and point it to IIMAGINE.

  • First of all, Add DNS records with the IP (107.191.42.0) on your domain registrar. Go to Advanced DNS tab and Click on the Add New Record button.
  • Select the A Record from the dropdown menu and enter the subdomain Alias into the Host. For example, you could name it crm.mydomain.com so the subdomain will be ‘crm’.
  • Enter the IP address (107.191.42.0) in the Value field and select Automatic from TTL.
  • Click Save All Changes button.
  • See screenshot below.
