An email template is a pre-designed and/or prewritten email that can be used to quickly and easily write and create emails. To create an email template hover over Email Campaigns and choose Email Templates from the dropdown and then click on Create New Template.

Email Subject and Pre-Header

Now you need to set up a couple of things. Give an appropriate Title to the template so you can identify it for later use. It’s for internal use only. Give a catchy Email Subject & Email Pre-Header which has an important role for opening the email by the end-user.

Email Styling and Layout

Once you’re done with your Email Subject and Email Pre-Header, you need to choose your email’s design and style. By clicking the tiny gear icon  of the Email Body, you can change the Email Body Styling Settings.

From here, you can change your template’s Body Background Color, Content Width, Content Background Color, Default Content Color, Footer Text Color, Default Link Color, Content Font Family, and Headings Font Family. Click Update Setting when you’re satisfied with your template’s styling settings. This is also where you can enable or disable the default email footer.

CRM also provides you with four email layouts, AKA templates to choose from. The templates options are located right after the gear icon . There are four basic templates available to choose from, Simple BoxedPlain CenteredPlain Left, and Classic Editor.

  1. Simple Boxed: Choose this option to compose a simple-boxed email.
  2. Plain Centered: This lets you compose a centered-aligned email.
  3. Plain Left: Choose this option to compose a left-aligned email.
  4. Classic Editor: Choose this option to compose your emails with the old-classic editor.
  5. Raw HTML: Choose this option to write or import Raw HTML(Note: Please do not switch templates once you’ve written or imported your HTML).

Composing Email

Once you’re done with your Email Subject, Email Pre-Header, Layout, and Styling, you can start composing your email. Unlike other email composers, CRM provides you with blocks.

To check the available blocks you can use on your email templates, just hit the button. You can also add personalization within your emails by using contact properties. Simply press the @ button on your keyboard and your contact properties will show up.

Note: You can also add blocks as you compose your email. To do so, just press the button on your keyboard and the blocks will show up.

Below are the available blocks in CRM:

Paragraph: Use this block to add simple text paragraphs. If you want to change the Font SizeColor SettingsText Settings, or Typography of your paragraph, you can do that from the right sidebar.

Heading: The headings block lets you add headings to your email template. Again, you can change Font Size, Color Settings, and Advanced Typography from the right sidebar.

List: Similarly, you can add list items within your email templates. Change the font size or color settings if you want.

Classic: The classic block gives you the ability to use WordPress’s old classic editor. Choose your options wisely as some options may not work in email templates.

Table: Want to insert tables within emails? Just add a table block and select how many rows you want to include. You can change the Table Style, Table Settings, and Background Color if you wish.


Verse: Add a verse within the email template you are writing.Image: The image block can be used to add images. You can upload an image from your WordPress media library or upload one from your computer. From the right sidebar, you can also change the Image StyleSettings and Spacing easily.

Button: With the button block, you can easily add and design beautiful CTA buttons. You can change button StyleColor SettingsBorder SettingsWidth Settings and Link Settings from the right sidebar.

Column: The column block lets you add and design columns. Once you add a column block, you need to select column variation and color settings (from the right sidebar). Currently there are six column variations available in CRM’s email composer. We’ll go with a 2 column variation with 70:30 proportion.

Once you’ve selected the column variation, you can add more blocks such as paragraph, image, buttons, etc., within your columns.

Group: The group block lets you add a group so that you can create a grouped design and include headings, text, image, buttons, etc. 

Spacer: You can use the spacer block to add additional spacings within your email template.

Conditional Section: The conditional section is a unique feature that lets you personalize your email body effectively. Please read our documentation to learn how you can personalize your emails with the conditional section.

Custom HTML: If you want to include custom HTML codes within your emails, add a custom HTML block.

RSS: RSS helps you fetch feeds from your blog, news, or product page. To do so, just add an RSS block and select the number of items you want to display. You can also choose display style and show the author’s name, publish date, and excerpt.

Product Block(eCommerce only): If you’re using eCommerce, you’ll notice a Product Block. This block lets you automatically fetch eCommerce products within your email template with a purchase button.

To add a product block for selling your products on eCommerce, select the Product Block. Next, you’ll be asked to select your product. Choose the product you want to add and hit Done.

Once you have added the product, you can show or hide the product description, price and colors of your content, content background, etc.

That’s it! When you are done with the body content click on the Create Email Template from the top right and your template is ready for use! You can also Send a Test Email to yourself if you want to check your email before reaching out to your audience.
